Vortical Flow

Water flowing in a ‘rifled’ pipe (similar to human arteries) will adopt a complex yet structured flow pattern consisting of vortices of different sizes and spirals within spirals all flowing at different speeds and some parts even moving backwards along the pipe.

Illustrations from Viktor Schauberger

The flow is a surprisingly efficient way to get water through a pipe as compared to laminar flow, having low frictional resistance that does not increase with speed as expected.

The graph below shows how increased speed leads to increased turbulence which leads to increased resistance for ‘straight’ glass and copper pipes with a uniform circular profile.

The spiralled copper pipe however gives a very different profile, with resistance at first increasing and then decreasing in a cyclic fashion until, at certain speeds, we have apparent negative resistance.

The idea of ‘negative resistance’ is of course nonsense but can be interpreted as there existing an additional force that is pushing the water along the pipe somehow.

The water, which has already developed a very low frictional flow pattern, is somehow generating its own energy to propel itself through the pipe.

The Stuttgart Experiments

These astonishing results, discovered by Viktor Schauberger, were met by predictable derision from the establishment and the government at the time insisted upon replicating the experiments in an attempt at debunking.

A reluctant Prof. Franz Popel was duly employed for the task but only succeeded in acknowledging that at times, yes, the resistance did indeed drop to zero.

The Emerging Science of Water: Water Science in the XXIst Century eBook: Voeikov, Vladimir, Korotkov, Konstantin: Amazon.co.uk: Kindle Store

Voiekov and Korotkov in their book describe Coherent Quantum Domains which allegedly can trap free energy created from the vacuum of space. They do not explicitly connect this to ‘Schauberger Flow’ but the two subjects are in consecutive chapters.

Schauberger insisted that “The Heart is not a Pump” and that the blood was moved around the body without a central source of pressure. The results with spiral water flow give some scientific basis for this.
