This page takes a very brief look at some puzzling and important features of water and tries to rephrase them in terms of vortex physics. Elements include: interfacial (EZ) water, water memory, fourth phase water, ice formation, surface tension and tubular flow.

Interfacial (EZ) water
Where water meets another medium whether it be air or glass, say, there exists a zone of water that will exclude impurities, is claimed (and disputed) to be more dense than bulk water and will absorb electromagnetic infrared radiation at around 270 nanometres, the energy of which will be used to maintain such a layer.
In terms of vortex physics, what is happening is that the change in conductivity between water and the air necessitates a change in the structure of any electric field vortex that needs to pass across the interface. A build up of energy occurs at the surface of the water and this affects its physical structure.
The ‘etheric’ part of the water structures the physical.
Impurities are excluded from water adjacent to glass and the build up of energy at the surface of a body of water is what is responsible for surface tension. The molecular structure of the water is not what is responsible for the properties of the water so much as the increased ‘field energy’ caused by the vortex structure.
Physicist Martin Chaplin makes the claim that the H2O molecules in a block of ice are still behaving as if they were in liquid water, still forming temporary dynamic structures with no permanent molecular bonds. The solidity and macro structure of the ice persists independently of the molecular forces and therefore cannot depend upon them.
Gerald Pollack speculates that interfacial water adopts a fixed hexagonal crystalline structure but given the comments above this seems highly unlikely. None of the observed effects of interfacial water (density, absorption spectrum etc.) explicitly require a hexagonal structure.
Vortex structures are natural, ubiquitous and consistent with electromagnetic field theory and so these should be considered as somehow responsible for the restructuring of the water and for the consequent effects.
A field vortex is just a stationary electromagnetic wave and it is therefore natural that it should absorb other electromagnetic waves, meaning photons. No extra mechanism and no additional hypothesis concerning hexagonal water is needed to explain this.
Vortexed water
Gerald Pollack did an experiment:
- Put water in a glass and measure the temperature
- Stir the water
- Measure the temperature again – colder!
So energy has been put into the water but the ‘temperature’ has gone down!
When temperature is taken with a thermometer, what is being measured is the rate of heat loss of the water i.e. the rate of transfer of energy from the water to the thermometer. The assumption of most scientists is that this rate of energy loss is proportional to the amount of energy within the water itself (black body radiation) and is therefore a good proxy for the energy content (temperature) of the water.
This is clearly not the case so we need to rethink.
What has happened is that the stirring of the water has created vortices in the water and this has affected the underlying electric field system within the liquid. This exists independently of the physical molecules and takes on the form of a collection of vortex structures. Quantum physicists call these ‘cold vortices’ or ‘quantum coherent domains’.
Stirring water then creates more of these vortices and moves energy from the kinetic movement of physical H2O molecules to the vortex domain where it is quite happy to stay for some time (days or weeks). Any energy stored in the movement of water molecules is subject to frictional losses and will either be expelled as infrared light, transferred via diffusion to adjacent molecules or moved into the underlying vortex structure.
Stirred water therefore contains quite a lot of stable energy and drinking the water will absorb this energy for later possible release into the body. In all probability this is beneficial for the health. A similar form of energy is breathed in through the lungs and consumed especially in raw food. Fritz Popp said that you would be ‘eating light’.
This result is surely vital in understanding the role of water in living systems. energy moves from the physical domain to the ‘etheric’ and back again. The vortex structures act as an invisible energy buffer to help with local energy management. Vortices also control to a great degree the physical structure of the water, its dynamic behaviour and very possibly determine what sort of enzyme reactions are permissible and at what rate they occur.
Fine control of the field system implies fine control of the intracellular environment and this is the essence of life.
Warm water freezes faster than cold?
Warm water may freeze faster than cold water .. but why? From the above, the temperature of water is equivalent to the rate at which water is losing energy but this is says little about the amount of energy remaining in the water.
If warm water is losing energy faster then it may seem obvious that it is going to freeze faster as the assumption is that ‘freezing’ is all about the loss of kinetic energy of the water molecules.
This may not be the case though. Martin Chaplin makes the claim that the H2O molecules in a block of ice are still behaving as if they were in liquid water, still forming temporary dynamic structures with no permanent molecular bonds. Freezing can occur at temperatures above 0° and water can remain liquid down to -80°.
Freezing is something to do with the energy ratio between the physical water molecules and the underlying energy field of the water. When the molecules are reduced in energy and the vortex field is high then the vortex field dominates and reduces the movement of molecules which then settle into a least-energy structure determined in part by their own physical structure and in part by the underlying ‘etheric’ body of the water; ice is formed.
This explains the effects of EMF on the formation of ice crystals; the field structure of water acts as an antenna for electromagnetic disturbances.
Water memory – Montagnier et al
To rephrase the famous water memory experiment in terms of vortex structures:
DNA and its accompanying spiral field structure is placed in a jar of water and stirred about a bit thereby creating vortices of both water molecules and of electromagnetic fields. A probe is inserted and some of the vortex energy moves through the water, through an interfacial layer of vortices next to the probe and transforms to a configuration appropriate to the conductive environment of the measuring instrument.
A frequency power spectrum is recorded and at a separate location is translated into an electromagnetic signal which is directed into another jar of water.
The instruments used will not just emit photons but also scalar waves as an artefact (Meyl). These, along with actual photons again navigate both bulk and interfacial water vortex systems, possibly changing their frequency profile along the way and likely changing from photons to scalar waves and back again.
Almost everything observed is an artefact of the experimental set up and the measuring process itself. It will be very hard to ascribe any certainty as to the meaning of the results.
EZ or ‘exclusion zone’ water
The volume of interfacial water next to a glass jar or even at the surface of the water has been labelled an exclusion zone by Gerald Pollack owing to its ability to exclude nano-particles and even solutes.
The explanation offered is that a layer of hexagonally structured water is formed and that the tight lattice structure is responsible for excluding all other molecules.
I want to propose an alternative idea which is that there forms a layer of tightly packed electrical field vortices which transfer their energy to the actual water to form vortices of moving molecules and it is these structures that will eject impurities.
Recall video footage of a tornado enveloping an entire house and sucking it up into the air. A mere gas has lifted something much denser than itself and moved it against gravity. The tornado is supplied energy from outside sources and the spiral structure concentrates that energy towards the centre naturally without further guidance.
Scientists in the Thunderbolts Project are adamant that this is primarily an electrical phenomenon driven by electrical currents and that the visible tornado is just a physical manifestation of such currents.
There is a precedent then for such phenomena. We don’t need to invent an extra structure or extra laws of physics, we can jus re-purpose existing observations and theory.
The sharp change in the permittivity when moving from one material to another leads to an accumulation of energy and the formation of a vortex layer which alters the physical properties of the water itself.
This also provides the only likely sounding explanation for the phenomenon of surface tension, the creation of a thin layer at the water-air interface that is so strong that a lizard can walk across it. Water molecular bonds are so dynamic that they cannot possibly be holding the whole thing together so, as with ice, it must be the underlying electric field structure that is providing the strength.
Dynamic electromagnetic field structures are always in the form of vortices by the laws of electromagnetism.

“Something corresponding holds for a basic property of potential vortices, being of a completely different nature. It is the property to bind matter in the vortex and carry it away with the vortex. Well-known are the vortex rings that skilful cigarette smokers can blow in the air. Of course also non-smokers can produce these air eddies with their mouth but these remain invisible. Solely by the property of the vortex ring to bind the smoke it becomes visible to the human eye.

Tubular flow (Pollack)
Video footage shows nano-particles flowing through a nafion tube with no visible mechanism of propulsion. Application of infrared light speeds up the flow.
An exact description is elusive, but given the properties of field vortices outlined above, we have all the elements necessary to make a credible guess.
Infrared light is just another form of field movement with a semi-stable wave structure that propagates at the speed of light. This enters the water where it de-stabilises to some sort of scalar wave or ring vortex which travels through the water and through the wall of the nafion tube. At the interface with the water inside the tube, vortices are formed similar to tiny tornadoes, where they start to affect the structure of the water molecules themselves and expel the microparticles thereby forming an exclusion zone.
We can consider that in due course a larger vortex structure is formed around the tube and will tend to concentrate ambient heat (vortex energy) inwards towards the tube itself.
Such an influx of energy will need to go somewhere. However, we do not see dissipation and disorder as is commonly expected but an increase in order as a vortex system self-organises and again starts to move the water.
The self-organisation is of the electrical field and is therefore almost instantaneous. A preferred direction is decided upon fairly quickly and a stable flow of electric vortices will start to drag the water along with the expelled micro particles.
This arrangement predicts a continuous flow that can continue indefinitely as long as there is an input of energy in the form of either heat or radiation of some sort. Infrared seems preferred for some reason (resonant frequency of the vortices?).
The mechanism suggested by Gerald Pollack involves a continuous build up of EZ layer to squeeze out the water. It sounds just about credible that this should work but less so that it should be sustainable indefinitely. It seems that the tube should simply fill up with EZ water and that the flow should then cease.
The whole phenomenon apparently has movement arising from stasis and structure arising from disorder. These phenomena seem out of place in classical explanations but in terms of vortex physics, movement is permanent and the default tendency is towards the creation of vortex structures and the concentration and ordering of energy rather than its dissipation and disordering.
Energy enters the system from outside and is guided towards doing something useful by the geometry of the experimental set up and the relative conductivity of the materials.
From chaos to order in active fluids – Morozov. Wu et al
In this paper, some biological substances including ATP were mixed with water and the resulting solution placed in small tubes and cylinders.
The fluid spontaneously organised itself into vortices which oriented themselves with respect to each other and then the whole thing started to move in a single unidirectional flow.
Self organisation into vortices and thence into a coherent flow is therefore possible.

Free electron flow in quantum domains
Emilio del Giudice has claimed that water in biological systems in in some sort of elevated quantum state which reduces the ionising potential and creates a plasma of free electrons.
What has happened is that he has detected tiny electric currents and assumed that they consist of moving electrons and that they must therefore have been stripped of water molecules. The voltage needed for such currents is very small and so a reduced ionisation potential is concluded.
See the page: What is electricity? for an argument that electric current is does not consist of flowing electrons at all but a stream of electrical eddy currents instead. These need no electrons and hence no ionisation and can form at arbitrarily small(?) ‘potentials’.
These are measured as ‘current’ or ‘voltage’ within measuring devices and seem to be the preferred way of energy transport in biological systems.
Biological superconductivity
Another phenomenon reported is that of electric currents whose magnitude is independent of the resistance and so presumably independent of the originating voltage.
This is interpreted as some kind of superconductivity but again is an obvious sign of field movement consisting of electrical scalar waves or ring vortices. If this really is electric current where the current is independent of the voltage then what causes the current?
Watch videos of ring vortices in water to understand that the speed of the ring is independent of the propagation around the vortex and that the energy within the ring is not necessarily reflected in the outward aspect of the formation. Frictional losses are related by the outward geometry but energy content is hidden from view.
The conundrum of the independence of current and resistance is now explained as the resistance is determined by the outward aspect but the current by the inner energy; these are not necessarily related to each other.
If an electrical version of this shape were to enter a measuring instrument then the shape would adapt to fit the conductive environment of the instrument and some energy would be released. Depending upon measuring techniques it may even appear that more energy has arrived than set off in the first place. This may possibly even be true if the vortex stream has managed to absorb exogenous energy along the way.
Frequency transduction
Papers on Quantum Biology will mention that intracellular water is capable of transforming photons from one frequency to another, typically two photons of infrared will be input to a quantum domain and one photon of ultra-violet (high energy) will come out.
No explanation exists in classical physics and so a new explanation from quantum physics is formulated. There really is no need for this sort of thing when the phenomenon lends itself to at least two simple explanations from vortex physics.
First: What is imagined to be photons is in all probability some sort of scalar wave and these do not have a fixed frequency. They can move at different speeds through different media and a change in speed will necessarily mean a change in frequency with no loss or gain of energy.
Second: Intracellular water is permeated by a vortex field and any vortex can absorb more energy in the form of photons or other vortices. This energy can be of an arbitrarily small amount, it need not be of a limited ‘quantum’ amount.
A vortex will then absorb energy and in doing so become bigger and more energetic up to a certain threshold whereupon destabilisation occurs and some of this energy will be discharged again in the form of a field vortex which is then measured as a photon.
The vortex is acting as a simple accumulator with a discharge threshold. However, if experiments are set up whereby an infrared photon is always input and if, because of the ambient conditions, the output is always an ultra-violet photon, then the whole setup looks like it is really just converting ‘frequency’.
If this phenomenon is common then it will look like a fixed quantum of energy is always output and if this fixed quantum output is used as an input to further experiments then the strong impression is created that all energy is quantised!
We do not know the precise conditions that lead to photon absorption but it seems likely that it has something to do with resonance, meaning that the frequency of the absorbed photon is equal to the frequency of the spinning vortex or at least one of its harmonics. This again leads to the impression that energy only exists in discrete quanta.
It may well be that a large collection of vortices will self-entrain into a single macro domain of a single resonant frequency. Expect complex rhythmic behaviour typical of such systems. This seems likely as such patterns are again described by quantum physicists and again attributed to quantum effects: Quantum Coherent Domains
If most photons measured are really electric vortices then these entities do in fact contain discrete amounts of energy and such energy will appear quantised but this effect is an emergent property and by no means ‘fundamental’. The idea that there is a minimum amount of energy is an illusion created by the limitations of the theory and the crudity of the measuring process.
Dielectric barrier discharge

An electric voltage was applied across some water droplets and the resulting discharge patterns were photographed. Light is emitted at the interface between the water and the air in shapes that are both characteristic and stable. These resemble the vortex structures emitted from the connections on high voltage power lines.

This is well known phenomenon (Wikipedia) and has some explanation in terms of classical physics.
If I understand correctly a voltage creates an electric field which causes charge separation, with charges rushing to the periphery of the water droplet. Here they build up until a critical density is reached whereupon a large potential will cause ionisation (charge separation) of the surrounding air. This ionisation is visible as a spark discharge and somehow self-organises via an emergent electromagnetic field to form the characteristic shapes we see.
Well this sort of discharge usually forms lightning type discharges i.e. Lichtenberg patterns.
Alternative hypothesis: A ‘voltage’ is really an area of electromagnetic ‘field turbulence’ which, when introduced to a medium will adapt accordingly and propagate as either electric or magnetic field vortices. An interface will accumulate energy (see above) before discharging as more (invisible) vortex filaments.
These vortices can ‘unwind’ to form the stable propagation that we call ‘light’ and this may be visible at relatively low voltages as ‘bio-photons’ or ‘hydro-luminescence’.
Increased voltage may result in more light or may in fact cause ionisation when a critical value is reached. In this case however, it is the field that is the cause of the ionisation and whose helical form determines the structure of the discharge. In the case of classical physics it is the less than subtle process of ionisation that somehow results in a stable vortex.
In the vortex hypothesis, the helical structure arises naturally from an electromagnetic field according to the laws of physics and precedes the visible effect.
A low voltage form of this is precisely as described in the section on Tubular Flow above and the vortices will transport matter away from the interface thereby creating an exclusion zone.
